I had grown up going to church, learning about how God sent His son to die for my sins. I had given my life to the Lord at the age of 8 years old not really understanding much of it other than the fact that I wanted to be in heaven when it was my time.

Going into middle school is when I ended up walking away from God. The people I hung around influenced me to do things I kept secret for years, smoking if they asked, it was always peer pressure or me wanting to fit in. After doing all the smoking and hanging with the wrong crowd I would still call myself a Christian and go to church knowing my sin. Always doing what I had to do to be liked or validated, it corrupted my body, mind, heart, and soul. With all the corruption that had happened in me, I would later struggle with thoughts of hurting myself and I would at times when I thought I had no escape.

Once I got to high school is when I had a dream. That dream was an awakening for me. In it, I had passed away and heard angels singing that the Lord was coming back for His people. By His grace, love and mercy He made me realize He was calling me back to Him. He called me out of the place I was, that dark hole I had dug for myself, and placed it in my heart to do more and serve Him unconditionally. Without Him in my life I’d be nothing, so when the Lord calls you, you answer.

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.””
